How do you feel about special needs adults in/on children’s facilities like playgrounds, splash pads, pools, etc.?

Me

Sorry, poll options only let me type so many characters so—

1) They deserve to participate fully

2) They can participate but should be kept at a distance from other children for safety reasons

3) They shouldn’t be on children’s facilities

Came across this viral post on Facebook and Reddit of a special needs man who was a splash pad for kids.

Apparently he was following some girls around and the girls’ father became upset. The explanation was that he is autistic and has a “10 year old mentality”:

The comments of course are polarizing like they are on any issue. Some people see so no problem with him playing and others see an issue:

What say you?

Personally I don’t have an issue with an adult playing on children’s facilities. I tend to stick with my kids regardless so if an issue arose I would simply remove them from the situation.
