Does your family support your interests?

Question

Hi so I'm a semi professional performer and have had some shows come up recently. The only family member who ever really seemed to care was my mom (she passed a few months ago) now it seems that no one else I'm related to gives 2 shits. I'm not looking for people to fawn over me but I booked my first paid gigs and sent out video to my family of my performances and literally no one responded or said anything or even a congrats. I guess it would just be nice if they even pretended to care about something that means alot to me 😢

My whole family has always been very supportive of my creative side. I've never liked the attention I get, I'm super anxious and have lots of self doubts so it's hard to accept it. 
If you feel like it's important for you to receive recognition for your successes, create your own family. They don't have to be blood to be family. Find friends that will cheer you on our even join you in your passions and dreams. Age doesn't matter. You could try to mingle with people that go to your performances and meet up elsewhere and foster those relationships and bonds.

I wonder why they didn't respond? Seems kinda strange just not to say anything! I'm sorry.
My mom doesn't support my main interest, only interests that seem practical to her that make money. 
My dad rarely pays attention to anything I do, but has started to approve of my hobbies he is also interested in. 
My brother supports me and thinks what I do is rad, but isn't looking for any involvement. 
I think what I do kinda scares my family, and they don't totally get it & aren't totally comfortable, but my brother gets it most. 
In general, my family can be kind of distant.

Absolutely no one in my family cares. I'm in the same spot. The only person that really cared about me or my dreams was my dad and he passed in November. I have a very strong relationship outside my family. Which, of course, they don't approve of. But we stick together and support each other. It's important to have a strong support system outside your family. If I didn't have my Jacob, I don't where I'd be right now. I believe you're strong. And you should follow your dream wherever it takes you. Sometimes we aren't meant for the familes we're born into. Sometimes you have to find your family. And believe me, when you do your life will make so much more sense when you find your people. You deserve to be supported no matter what. I hope you can find your people like I have. Dance with your soul, girl 🎶
