Is it normal that my 6 month old still takes all of his naps in my arms?

Anyone else who had this experience? I try laying him down but he wakes up every time. And I really care for his sleep so I just do all of them in my arms. When will he grow out of this? (I wouldn’t have minded but I have to skip breakfast, and lunch sometimes, I can’t cook or have any free time to myself).

My son is 4 and they do grow out of it sadly.. my biggest regret is that I didn’t let him do it more. I know this doesn’t help you but maybe try and put him down once his asleep but enjoy those moments of trying to get him to fall asleep in your arms a little more because soon it will be over ❤️

Totally 100% biologically normal and GOOD. The people who say it will create a bad habit or not to do it have a very poor understanding of human babies biological needs. Attachment is fundamental for infant development and is totally normal and positive. 
They will grow out of it when they are developmentally ready. 
I understand wanting more time to yourself and obviously if it's becoming draining for you you can transition out of it, but if you enjoy it don't cut it short just to prevent a "bad habit".

Mine is 8.5 and still does it. I know a lot of people say just enjoy and get the cuddles in but I don't think that should be the answer to give and ignore the fact that you are unable to get some time to take care of yourself and you still look after and cuddle during awake time.  Somehow the basic things I need to do like eating I am able to around his naps when he is playing or sitting next to us in his chair. Once in a while SO would bring the food to me on a tray especially when he was younger. Other tasks take much longer to complete. I try to make sure he gets the recommended nap time as I know he needs the sleep and also to avoid him getting overtired. He is now down to two naps, I am trying to put him down for at least one of his naps to try and transition.

I would start transitioning. That method can last permanently as your baby would be used to it. Keep trying to transition. It'll suck for a week or so but eventually the baby will be accustom to laying down. Itll become a bad habit and you need your time too.

My girl will be 8 months on Saturday and still takes all of her naps on me.
I know she could be napping in her crib, but I love contact napping and I know she’ll grow out of it eventually and not need to nap at all.

I did this too, sometimes he'd stay asleep when I transferred him to his crib but most were in my arms. Sometime around 9 months, he started taking forever to fall asleep in my arms and would cry and try to roll to his tummy in my arms. One time, I ended up putting him in his crib, mostly out of frustration and needing to take a few minutes to go to the bathroom, and he fell asleep in his crib. I realized he was having trouble as he just wanted to sleep on his tummy. From then on he took all crib naps and still does. No need to feel guilty about holding your baby for all naps but if it isn't working for you anymore, don't feel guilty about looking into changing it.

Mine is a year and naps on me… i read a lot of books and make sure i peed first 😂.
