I don’t want or need help at this time
My daughter is 6 weeks old today and EBF. She rarely takes a bottle of breastmilk but my husband and I are working on it every day. We try to give her bottle at least 1x a day but we definitely aren’t forcing it.
I am home for another 6 weeks, and will continue to work on it. My job is being flexible and I am hoping to be able to continue to work from home as I’ve been doing for over a year prior to giving birth.
My dad is starting to annoy me though because he keeps talking about interviewing nanny’s. Someone who will come to the house and help watch the baby while we work a few times per week.
They constantly ask me if she’s taking the bottle and when I say not rlly he says “if you leave her with us for some hours she wil”- well, sorry, she barely takes the bottle from her dad, and the thought of her crying because she wants me doesn’t sit well with my spirit.
He always thinks I’m tired when I barely ever complain about being tired. He just assumes I’m tired over a phone conversation because I yawn. I’m fine honestly. Even if I was tired, that’s the life of a mom with a new born and I’m good. I’m happy being tired caring for my first child.
I will only ask for help if I truly truly need it for my own sanity or if I am truly exhausted and her dad cannot assist with relieving me.
I have trust issues when it comes to anyone caring for my child. Even her dad sometimes irritates me when I ask him or he offers to help hold her after I’ve fed her and I say “try to burp her and hold her upright” and he does a meh job and then she starts spitting up milk.
So no...I don’t want anyone’s help right now.
I feel guilty at times because I rlly have no plans of letting anyone keep her for several hours or overnight. They offer it so I can “sleep” but honestly...I’m not going to “sleep” a wink due to my worrying.
Anyone else feel this way?
