Confusion IRS

Can you claim a dependent on taxes if you are not working have no income. The income you do have is from the stimulus checks, you stay at home live with parents, seeking employment.

There are allot of people that live with there parents the adult children and grandchildren.

Now in 2020 2021 I am wondering if those that had the stimulus check but were not working; seeking employment if they qualify for the Child advance tax credit?

If a parent is not currently employed from 2020-2021 but is using there savings to provide for the family plus the stimulus checks can they apply?

But they are uncertain if they will have a job in 2021 filling taxes before if you had no income, job you couldn't recipient of the child tax credit or claim a dependent.
