Try to encourage propped sitting where she puts her hands in front on the ground. 
If she can’t do that yet I’d work on more tummy time to get her to bare weight on her arms.

Childcare professional here! Yes this is good for her to do and she is right on track at 5 months! She's on her way to sitting independently. Do not listen to the comment that says to sit her up against something- that will stop the wonderful progress being made. You've likely been doing tummy time with her for a while, it will help he gain the instinct to put her hands out before her head hits the floor if you do something called Bolstering. It is where you prop her stomach onto your thigh and try to help her balance like a teeter-totter so she can work on her reflexes. She's doing great!!

I mean if she gets stuck help a girl out but my son did this also when learning to sit up. I wouldn't leave her like that for extended amounts of time.

Our 11mo old falls asleep in this position. She’ll be sitting in her crib and instead of laying down, she just tips forward and sleeps. We go in and move her when we see it, but she is not happy with us when we do.

It's ok if it's like an accident. But dont just let her sit like that all the time. I'm sure it's not hurting her but put something behind her like a boppy pillow to help her learn to sit up

The position itself probably won’t hurt her, but if you’re trying to help her learn to sit on her own then she needs more assistance until she gains the strength to help prop herself up.
