Where did your parents tell you babies comes from?

My parents were honest with me from the get go about sex and babies. However my husband's mom told him babies came from pumpkin seeds lmao! So when he was 6 he wanted a baby brother and his mom said no so he asked his grandma for pumpkin seeds so he can eat them and birth his own baby brother😂

But my 4 year old has come up with his own answer already.
He thinks pregnant ladies eat lots of food so when I had my youngest, he kept thanking me for eating a lot of food so that I could give him a brother. 😂
He literally says “thank you mom for eating so much food to give me Levi” 😂😂

My mom told me that daddy plants a seed in mommy. To which I responded does daddy dig you? Then to try and make me understand better she told me daddy puts his pee pee in mommy’s pee pee. And I remember I would sit on the toilet wondering okay so if my mom pees in here and then my dad pees on top of her pee how in the world does that make a baby in her belly. They also would tell me not to eat the black water melon seeds or it would grow inside of me. For the longest time whenever I saw a pregnant woman I thought she must’ve eaten a black watermelon seed.

I don’t think I ever really asked. Always figured God put a baby in the mom when she wanted kids. Slowly pieced together that those scenes on tv that mom clicks away from where people rub naked together was sex, and that makes babies. Didn’t realize mens penis went IN the women’s vagina until my friend told me when I was 11/12.

I grew up on a farm...we had the baby talk real early since we had animals that visually breed and had babies. They were just honest and explained the process in general and how it differed from large animals to humans to birds with eggs. Kids understand and accept facts so no.reason to lie

I don’t recall ever having a conversation with my parents about the topic. I did have access to lots of books, though, with no limits on what books I could read or check out.

I don’t they told me and I don’t think I asked. I just came to my own conclusion that babies definitely came out of belly buttons. I don’t think I was concerned how they got there.

My 4yo has already asked where the baby came from. I think it’s important to give them age appropriate factual information. I told him daddy’s sperm and mommy’s egg came together inside mommy to make a tiny baby that will grow and grow until he’s ready to be born. When he’s older I’ll give him more info
