CANT HAVE A NORMAL CONVERSATION

Why does every little thing have to turn into an argument? I was telling my husband about a conversation I had with my cousin.. she asked me for advice about getting back with her ex/father of her child bc me and my husband broke up when my daughter was 1 and got back together when she was 4…

I mentioned that she is dating but the ex wants her to cut off whoever she’s dating and I told my husband that that pretty much means they’re in a relationship again, not dating if she does that…

My husband says that when you’re dating, you are not dating multiple people.

I told him that I disagree… you date around and when you find someone you want to dedicate all of your time to, you move towards a relationship…

Somehow this turned into a huge argument when he starts getting irritated and he start taking low blows bringing up a “situationship” I had when we weren’t together… I told my husband that the guy was never my boyfriend and we were just dating (going out to dinner, movies, etc.)… then he says if your dating around you’re out fucking everyone… WHICH IS NOT TRUE…

I’m mostly annoyed bc light hearted conversations turn i to arguments when he disagrees with something I say… I want to feel like I’m talking to my best friend but I don’t bc I’m always having to be careful of what I say or what we talk about to avoid these stupid petty arguments. His opinion is always the only one that matters… he can never look at the bigger picture and always only sees things from his perspective. It’s exhausting.

Another example:

I sent a funny video of this guy that is a comedian and also a model that was on ANTM… he asked me who he is and I told him he models and he told me “no he’s not” i told him he is and sent a modeling pic and told him he was on America’s Next Top Model and he asked”but did he win though?” I tell him no but a lot of them get picked up for other agencies after the exposure from being on the show… he says “then he’s not a fucking model…”

I was only trying to show him a funny video and that’s what it turns into… exhausting! I don’t even know what to call it…
