TTC pregnant or not?

We have been TTC since last month in hopes of getting pregnant by Christmas. We tried at peak ovulation and days all around that day. I've taken 2 pregnancy test so far but both have been negative, which the first one was at the wrong time. And I'm thinking maybe I didn't take the second one at the right time. This is our first time so I don't know how it feels but I feel like I am pregnant, but I'm hoping that it's not just me HOPING I am. I'm having a couple symptoms that I've never experienced before but nothing major. What do you girls think? Any advice?
