Racism RANT

I am so pissed!! And just need a space to vent! I buy my 8 year old all different colours of dolls ever since she was... probably 2... I am not with her dad and haven’t been for 8 years in November so her dolls she keeps here so her step mum doesn’t complain about her bringing things to her house from me 🤨 anyway........

I got her a gorgeous African doll today with textured hair and traditional clothing and I dropped her off at her grandfathers house.. (dads dad) and he said “why did you buy her a black doll? It’s ugly” and then looked at her and said “don’t play with black dolls”

And I choked and took my daughter inside and pulled him alone and said “you’re the exact example of what I do not want her to turn out to be like which is a huge reason I buy her these dolls. She isn’t to know that the colour of someone’s skin is what makes them beautiful or “ugly” she is only to judge someone on their character!! No matter anyone’s race and religion everyone is beautiful and I need you to do nothing but teach her to THAT!”

I am so upset honestly! Being born in South Africa and then come to Australia I lived in two countries where man thinks he is better than anyone of “colour” and I am grateful that my adoptive parents raised us to treat people based on their character and never ever ever for the colour of their skin and religion!
