How do you respond when people ask if your pregnancy was planned?

Here are my issues with the question: 1. That's an invasive question that is none of your business 2. What does it matter anyway? 3. If I answer the question honestly "not exactly but we are happily married and not using contraceptives," it kind of dignifies the tacky question.

My husband and I have chosen to answer this question in a ridiculous way since it's a ridiculous question. He says "oh no, we weren't trying. I'm not even sure if it's mine!"

Universal response to all inappropriate questions: "why do you ask?" with the politest smile ever. Turns it right back around on them. If they continue or even get worse, then "Wow."

We just say it was a bit of a surprise, but we're really happy and excited about it. No reason to lie or get offended. I think as long as people know that you're happy and don't regret your choices, that's what they care about.

The most annoying question for me was "when are you guys gonna have kids?" "Are you pregnant yet?" Its like shut the hell up.

We haven't gotten "was it planned" because we haven't announced it officially yet, but we're married too & everyone felt the need to ask if we were trying & we didn't try right away so I felt like I mean, 'Are we behind the curve or?' kind of annoying. Or some people that don't know yet, applaud us not having kids yet & say it's best to wait a few years to enjoy each other first. I mean we're 24 & married & have been together 7 years. I don't really feel like our reproductive decisions are anyone's choice or opinion but they all chime in & it drives me nuts. 🙉
