My ex and I dated 2 years ago, but we were recently together, without dating but we had sex with each other. Soon after he started ignoring me. I decided to get over him and his best friend started talking to me and long story short, we're about to start dating. Should we?

I've been in this situation. I dated my best friend for a year and a half my senior year.  We broke up and it was kind of mutual. A few months later, after the dust settled and we went our separate ways, a little romance sprang up between his good friend and me. His friend talked to him, and he didn't feel comfortable moving forward with the relationship, so we didn't.  Point is, if they are friends, he will talk to him about it first,  bro-code and all.
