Toddler teeth - cavity??

We brush our daughters teeth 2x a day but they are starting to turn brown around the gums!  I’m horrified.  She has her first dentist appt next month and I was only able to move up the appointment by 6 days 😩.  She’s 20 months and still breastfeeds so I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it?  Has anyone else’s kids had teeth like this?

Do you wipe down her teeth with a wet cloth after she breastfeeds at night? Because you're supposed to. Ask me how I know- because my eldest ended up with several cavities from breastfeeding through the night. Never gave him junkfood. Never gave him juice. Brushed his teeth twice a day, flossed after lunch and before bed. 
My dentist asked me if we were wiping down his teeth with a wet cloth after each night feeding (he was 16 months and still breastfeeding through the night.) And I was like no? I didn't know you were supposed to. And he said "Yep. Happens all the time and it seems like pediatricians do not tell breastfeeding mothers to do so."
So that's how my son ended up with cavities at 16 months old on his front four teeth and his molars. He also has soft teeth (from ME and my soft ass teeth) and wouldn't drink cow's milk, so he had a calcium deficiency so the combination of those three was really a match made in hell. And to make things worse, he didn't weigh enough to be put under anesthesia to have them fixed until he was 4. The only pediatric dentist in my area won't fix multiple cavities under 5 without anesthesia and he also had to be 30 lbs, which he wasn't until 4. And by then, because cavities only worsen until they're fixed even if nothing else is making making them worse, they were deep enough that he needed crowns. It was $6000. 
I wiped my second and third sons' teeth down with a wet cloth after every night feeding. Neither of them. (almost 3 and then 12 months) have cavities. And neither of them have ever had a cavity. And neither of them have my stupid soft teeth either. 
My pediatrician doesn't recommend seeing a dentist until they're 2. But I made sure my younger two had appointments at 6 and 12 months to catch things early.

Breastmilk actually has properties that protect the teeth.  Some dentists will blame that but it isn’t the cause.  Some kids are prone due to a bacteria and sometimes it’s diet.  Here’s an article from kellymom that you might find informative as it uses actual studies to explain things.  Don’t beat yourself up!  Some people just really are prone xx

My son had something similar, it was just staining and the dentist said he can just polish it off at our next visit. But we started letting him brush his teeth while going potty, and the stains are almost gone because of the more frequent brushings!

Looks like some decay and staining, or at the very least demineralization. I have experience as a dental assistant so I’m curious to find out what it ends up being. Part of one of the front teeth looks like it’s lost actual structure which is what decay does. Verses staining just discolores the teeth

Breastfeeding has absolutely nothing to do with it, not sure why that information is still being passed around 🤦🏼‍♀️

If she is still nursing at night that could cause tooth decay. 
I used to nurse my little one to sleep then rock her in my arms until she was out cold then use a water and a soft brush to quickly brush them off while she was sleeping.
Eventually I cut out nursing before bed and now we nurse after bath instead.
