1 year old has cold

Last night my daughter started getting a fever (99.1) and early this morning it went up to 102. I gave her Tylenol both times. So we took her to the children’s hospital when it went up again. They told us that it’s a cold and minor ear infection and gave us Tylenol before we left because her temp went up to 102.8. They told us we can’t give her cold medicine because it can be harmful at her age, which I understand. But is there anything that’s safe to give her that’s over the counter? (Besides Tylenol) to help with fever and cough. She just doesn’t seem like herself and I can tell she feels awful and I don’t know what to do.
