Venting

I just need to vent. I'm from Michigan, US. And I don't get paid time off when I have the baby. Which is fine, I have time to save up. But my husband says the childbirth is already going to cost enough, $2000. So, in his mind I can't take more than 2 weeks off. He says we can't afford it but I'm so worried about my body being okay to work that soon and leaving my baby so soon. He doesn't think this is wrong at all and I'm so confused. Thoughts? Opinions?
