7 week old wakes up every time pacifier falls out
There are certain difficult times of the day/night when she can easily spend an HOUR like this:
goes to sleep in bassinet with pacifier in mouth, two minutes later it falls out and she wakes up. If its not replaced shortly after she will start crying. We replace it. She dozes off again, 30 seconds later it falls out…. Cycle repeats!! For an hour! Often during 1-2 naps a day, bedtime, middle of the night, and early morning.
I don’t understand why it takes her so long to go back into deeper sleep where she won’t notice the pacifier. There are plenty of other times during day time naps where it’s not an issue at all.
Someone help! I don’t know what to do. She seems too young to take the pacifier away from her altogether. She has reflux and would cry so much before we could get her to take it.
I try to deal with sleep by providing the minimal amount of intervention, so that baby eventually learns to fall asleep on their own. I’ve been doing Taking Cara Babies by the way and I don’t feel like this issue is properly addressed for my situation.
