How long does baby’s eyes stay blue for?

Me and my partner both have brown eyes and our son always has as well. 
My daughter is 5 months and has blue eyes, everyone makes jokes about me and the mailman 🙄. 
I think she’s beautiful either way but the comments are killing me, if you had a baby with blue eyes that turned brown how long did It take?

Blue eyes are the recessive gene, totally normal to have 2 brown eyed parents and a blue eyed kid. All my kids have blue eyes, mine and my husband's eyes are blue, but we have a brunette, a blonde, and a redhead. If you can imagine all the mailman comments we get 🤣

Could be a recessive gene and they’ll stay blue. It’s not impossible for two brown eyed parents to have a blue eyed baby.

Those don’t look like they’re gonna turn brown.  My son had navy blue eyes that turned much lighter blue. My daughter was born with brown eyes. You just never know!

They’re pretty light so they might not change.
 It’s a small chance but still possible that they could stay blue.  My son’s eyes were much much darker at birth and turned brown at about 12 weeks old.  My daughter had blue eyes until she was 4, then green eyes until she was 13, and then they turned hazel.  So it could take ages 😂
I’d be honest about the comments being overdone and annoying so that people stop them.  I had to make a point to say something when people realized my son was getting ginger hair (he’s biracial so it was unexpected even though I have ginger hair).  I got sooo tired of hearing about it like it was the biggest joke.

My hubby and I both have brown eyes and our 7 month old daughter still has her blue eyes. It's a recessive gene. Her eyes could still change to hazel or brown later on.

It is very rare when a baby comes out with color eyes. My husband both parents have brown eyes and he has green eyes. He was born with the green eyes and he is now 38 yrs old and still has them is possible that your baby girl will keep them too. Don’t stress out about other people’s comments anybody will judge only you and your partner know it’s y’all baby girl. She is gorgeous btw 😍

My oldest had blue gray eyes until 6ish months and started darkening after. However, just because you both have brown eyes doesn't mean you can't have a blue eyed baby. By sister and her husband both have brown eyes and my nephew has blue eyes.
