Attitude change??

Question

Has anyone gotten rid of the paci and noticed a HUGE change in your baby’s attitude and how he acts? We have been 1 week without the paci and he has been a lot more angrier and not as happy seeming as before. Not sure if it’s related to getting rid of the paci but it seemed to have started after we did that. Maybe it’s the terrible twos happening earlier. 😫 (he is 18 months)

If your child has not been toilet trained you might have inadvertently cut short an important stage of their psychosexual development. Infants this age are in their oral stage of psychosexual development. I.e. a focus on their mouth, bringing them pleasure. Prematurely cutting this short can lead to psychosexual problems in later life. You will know if your child is passed this stage if they are ready to be potty trained. If they are not, I recommend giving it back.

My son chewed a hold through his just before he turned 1. We just never gave it back. He was a bit more fussy for maybe 3 days and then he was totally fine. I was worried because we just had his sister but he wants nothing to do with hers.

My son uses his paci only during his nap time and nighttime. I really dont know how to wean him off it...
