Does anyone else never get a break from their kids?

Question

My only “break” every day is when my husband gets home, he will watch the kids while I cook dinner for everyone. And then I get to clean up after everyone too. I’ve been with my children 24/7 for the past 3 years. I don’t grocery shop without them. I don’t exercise without them. I don’t even shower or go to the bathroom without them. 
Please don’t tell me to “make” my husband do more. He works constantly and does what he can. We live far away from family and I don’t trust babysitters. I’m just posting this to see if I’m not alone.

Definitely need to work on expanding your circle of trust. Put those kids in drop off activities, mommy’s day out etc.

I don't get "a break" from mine either. I have a 4 y/o, 2 y/o, and 1 y/o. My 4 y/o has been away from me twice, both times when I was giving birth to little bros. My 2 y/o has been away from me once when I was giving birth to littlest bro. My 1 y/o has never been away from me. I'm fine with not having a break from them though. Don't really want one. They're pretty easy kids for the most part, despite my 2 y/o having autism. My husband can't help either. Works nights and works 14 hours shifts. High turnover rate so he will work 3-4 weeks straight without a day off. Dangerous job too so I can't have him missing sleep to help out because being tired at his job could result in him or someone else getting killed.

After bedtime is it for me.  Mostly because my son doesn’t ever stop crying for me so even if I’m trying to cook, he makes life hell for my SO until we give up and let him cling to me while I cook and clean up 🤦‍♀️ 
For a while, once a week, my SO would take the kids on a walk so I could take an hour long bath in silence.  He’s been slacking on that because he’s working so much though

You need some sort of a girls day out. I try to go out with friends sometimes even if it's a shopping day. Let your husband watch the kids for a bit and go out and do something

I’d at least consider a mother’s helper. Give you a little break while you are still at home with the kids.

You're not alone. The only time my son has ever slept over at someone's house was my mother's when we were in the hospital having our daughter, and due to Covid I could only have my husband with me. 
My husband will take them for walks sometimes so I can actually be alone, but like you said, it's hard. He works a full time job and anything on the side that he can get.
My son is almost 3 and a half and I've only worked for a year and a half since he's been born, just because I don't like others watching him. My mother-in-law watched him while I worked, but even that bothers me and my husband. My son starts acting differently and difficult. I like to be with them, but my husband helps when he's home, he's a 100% hands on daddy, thank goodness!

My husband doesn't even get home from work until after I get the baby to bed... so no, no break.
