Beginning of RSV?

My 4 month old has been having a little dry cough lately. It comes randomly and it’s just a small cough I wouldn’t of thought anything of it except my sister’s child is now in the hospital for RSV. I haven’t seen her in months, but my mom has gone back and forth visiting the babies and I think she’s the one who passed it around. Does that sound like beginning stages of RSV? I’m a bit worried seeing how my sister and nephew are doing. Last time we came in contact with my mom was last week Thursday and I’ve noticed this morning even I have a bit of a runny nose.

I was worried because my baby started getting sniffles and a cough so I messaged her pediatrician. I was told to just monitor , sleep with humidifier and give saline drops . I did all of that plus gave her some stores breast milk and she was better by day 3. She’s 10 weeks.

Never hurts to call the pediatrician. RSV is highly contagious and going around like wildfire these days. Just make sure you monitor her regularly for breathing in the meantime. It could just be a cough. You never know. So make the call to put yourself at ease
