Custody arrangements?

My boyfriend & I are going through a breakup, and we have two toddlers. 
I am trying to be civil, and figure out a custody schedule before we go to court & fight about it. 
I haven’t ever been through this, and am scared shitless. What is the process like (court, custody, ect?). 
Also, if you have a custody arrangement for your kid(s), do you mind sharing the schedule? 
He SWEARS he won’t be a “weekend dad”, but hasn’t ever had the boys alone for more than a few hours at a time.

Please get an attorney. Standard visitation is usually one weekday and every other weekend. Of course you and your ex can make up the agreement however you wish but that is pretty standard. Definitely get an attorney to advise you and guide you in the right direction during this difficult time.

Depending on the state most places give dads weekends or every other weekend because it tends to be to much on them at once. That literally came out of the mediators mouth that did my daughters custody arrangement. However my daughters dads a piece of crap, it went smooth but we’re going back again because he wants to look like father of the year. So. But if you just go through imediation and come up with an agreement it’s nice. 
However I’ve heard of people also doing on a week off a week for their kids. 
Depending how far y’all live some even do like mom gets them full time but goes to dads during the summer and they switch holidays every year etc . Just depends on y’all.
