Will? Death plan?

Question

It makes me tear up thinking about this but all my pregnant moms did y’all come up with a death plan? Like if something went wrong with child birth or such? Did you go to a professional? Write it on a piece of paper? Or just hope for the best? I’m probably over thinking it but not sure if I should or not.

I did none of this... I guess it’s a smart thing to do but I just wasn’t thinking about that at all... 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m due for my third baby in 5weeks and also not something I’m concerned about doing this time around.

I mean i had a brief conversation with my husband but that was it. And even that was because we had a death in the family and 2 families diagnosed with cancer when i was in my first trimester

No, but I added additional life insurance policies on me to make sure my husband would be financially ok for our kids.

The hospital asked me if I had anything set up when I went in. I didn’t - but I had conversations with my husband and mom enough that I felt like they could together make decisions. It’s scary to think about and honestly not knowing it’s hard to say what measures you’re okay with taking. I ended up having an emergency c section and in that scary moment all that mattered was my baby. I told my husband to give my body a chance to heal but I didn’t want him burdened with the costs of life support. I wanted him to be able to move on. My hospital has forms online you can fill out and have notarized. Since having my baby we did a regular will. It honestly sucks thinking about the what if but I’d rather have one in place than have my in-laws take my babies from my parents.

My husband and I talked about it since my deliveries were high risk c-sections. We had two medical teams - one for me and one for baby. For our second child, I made a video for our son in case I didn’t make it through. 
Now that we have two kids, we’re scheduling an appt with a lawyer to make a will so our kids are cared for if we both pass at the same time.

I basically just told my husband what I’d want if something happens, and told him to always choose the baby’s life over mine. That was the extent 😬

I’m working on getting a medical power of attorney and then setting up a will. My parents are awful people and even though I’m married, I want there to be zero ambiguity about my husband making my medical decisions for me if I’m unable to myself instead of letting them do it. I briefly mentioned what I’d want for my funeral at a family gathering and my mom told me to my face “oh I could never do that” so I know my wishes won’t be honored with them.

When I hit 20 weeks with my oldest child we went to a lawyer and we.did a legal living will and testament for me.amd my husband. Incase something happened to me or both of us we wanted to know our child was safe. My inlaws are awful people and I do not want my kids to go to anyone in that side of the family (husband agrees) but they have a ton of money and their team of lawyers would win any custody battle against my family so we wanted it iron clad who our kids would go to, how our assets would be split up, and our funeral preferences so nobody had to guess. We update them at any large life event like when we had baby 2 we updated the assets and what would happen. You ways hope everything will forever be OK but I wanted to be sure so we had everything legally done so I know for sure
