Did my daughter deserve punishment/will this cause bug infestation?

So I have really bad ocd. Today while cleaning my daughters closet and drawer I found empty soda bottles, coffee cup, chocolate wrappers, empty chip bag, empty cookie box which my daughter has hoarded for whatever fucking reason. I yelled at her and asked for how long she said like 3 years ago and she had the nerve to laugh while I was panicking, she hid them over and under her old clothes. I yelled at her and could tell she got upset and told her to throw them away. Now I’m worried because the wrappers had some residue of chocolate and oil from the chips obviously, after so much time won’t that cause tiny bugs crawling, I feel squirmy and disgusting and even worried that some bugs would have bite my daughter like maggots or something? I’m really worried I’m getting treatment for my ocd and I’m grounding my daughter.

This is a sign of a binge eating disorder and is probably just as challenging for her as your ocd is for you. 
Your yelling at her was probably not the best thing. I’d personally apologize, and then get a garbage pail for her room that she can empty herself. Make snacks readily available, don’t put shame around food, don’t comment on her eating or snacking or anything to do with her body. These are the starting points that can turn it around if it’s soon enough. It’s really important to manage eating disorders early… probably therapy for both of you would be the absolute best thing.

I'm more concerned why your daughter is hiding food and the contents from you, don't put your problems on your kid, you have ocd not your child, next she will end up like you becuase she will pick up on your disorder, instead teach her to not hide stuff and eat at a table etc and clear her rubbish and clean her room herself

I think by now u wouldve noticed insects or critters. And I would sit down with your daughter because thats a sign of binge or emotional eating. And if left undelt with will result in obesity and emotional issues.

Your daughter is struggling with an eating disorder, mental illness, depression or trauma. Maybe all of these. You are worried about wrappers that have been there for years? I get you have your own issues about this but surely you have some common sense. The bugs would have come and gone by now. Also it’s all processed junk food and less likely to attract bugs, especially to the extent that you are referring to. Your daughter is hiding those things. For whatever reason she feels uncomfortable about having those things out in the open in front of you. You punished her for that. It’s your fault. It’s your responsibility to know your daughter, understand her and help her cope. 
I had a mother like you. I hid food and wrappers from her, just like your daughter. I am 40 now and still have this urge. Although I don’t have a relationship with my mom. I haven’t since I was about 16 years old. It took me several years to learn that I wasn’t the problem. My mom was controlling, manipulative and a narcissist. 
You need to focus on the important part of all of this. First, bugs are the least important issue. You will even understand this if you just apply alittle bit of common sense. Second, you punished your daughter. You could have just told her to throw it away and not do it again. Give her a personal garbage can. Then let her be to do as she will. Third, you could be taking in some of the information that the other commenters have stated. But instead you just keep arguing and reiterating that you don’t want her to get bit by bugs. It sounds ridiculous. You aren’t taking any blame. You are the mother. You need to set the example and help your child. 
Start being better or you will likely lose your daughter the same way my mom did. That won’t be your daughter’s fault.

Hiding evidence of food is something that should be dealt with in a safe space. It's possible that instead of developing OCD, she has developed a different way of coping with anxiety/stress or seeking a way to feel some sense of control. I think you're making this far more about you than it should be. Wash the clothes and move on. Punishment will only push her to try harder to hide things from you.

I’m sure you all are fine and there will be no bug infestation. Yelling doesn’t usually solve anything, you might have been better off explaining your concerns and asking your daughter to clean up and not do it anymore.

So basically she just finish snacks & leaving the trash wherever it ends up when she throws it where ever she throws it when she done  ? Or Is She Stealing sweets out the kitchen that she doesn’t suppose to have & hiding them from you cause she stole them ? Can I ask her age ?
