First Appointment

So I had a quick question. I always thought I would get a ton of information during my first pregnancy appointment. Just information regarding what’s going to happen to my body, things I can/can’t eat, prenatal vitamins, weight gain, etc. I had an “emergency” visit on July 21st which was for scans and then a second appointment to check up and get more ultrasound photos on July 27th. I understand they were in a rush during my first appointment since it was an emergency, but they didn’t give me any information at all during my second visit either. They didn’t even tell me I had two cysts on my ovary which was more than likely causing the pain I was having. I had to bring it up because I seen it on my scan. They also didn’t say a word about prenatal vitamins. What if I didn’t know I was supposed to be taking them? I just found it weird. I’m not sure if this is normal and they will give me information at my 12 week appointment or what? I’m 8 weeks today. When did your doctor give you information about everything? During my sister’s pregnancy, her doctor gave her a folder full of informational paperwork to read and made sure she knew everything. So I’m just wondering what everyone’s experiences are. I am located in Ohio.
