Am I a Bad Mom?

I have a full time job and usually work 40hrs-55hrs a week. My son and daughter both scream and cry when I am getting ready for work. I haven't gotten to spend as much time with them as I have wanted to lately and I feel like a horrible mom for it. My 3 year old son cries and says "please don't go mommy" and it just breaks my heart. My daughter, almost 8 months, cries and looks like someone just took her favorite stuffed animal.

I work from home and my wife has to go in to the office, our daughter will scream up a storm while mom is leaving and is completely back to playing about 15 seconds later.
Similarly it breaks my wife’s heart leaving but at the end of the day you do what you need to do. Make sure to set some time aside for them when you can and it will all work out fine!

Are you a bad mom for supporting your family? Do you actually believe that? I sure hope not. I know it’s hard, but your kids will appreciate w eye thing you’ve done when you’re older. You’re doing great!!!

Are you able to work fewer hours if you feel like you want/need to spend more time with them?

I didn’t start with my daughter at daycare until 11 months and only 2 days a week (my husband and my schedules allowed for that) even so she cry’s like crazy when I leave and will come grab my leg. It breaks my heart too. I think it’s going to be hard at times no matter what. Doesn’t make you a bad momma. You love them and are working to give them a good life. You are doing good.

They just want to spend time wirh mommy. Understand that at their age they don't understand quality vs quantity time. They just want mom to be there and provide comfort as you are their world at such tender age. Imho, 40-55 hrs per week are a lot of hours to be away from your LOs. 
I have a 6M baby boy. It took me nearly a decade to conceive. And I think I wanted a child so badly just so I can stick him in daycare? I'm currently working from home and my sister helps me until dad gets home. I used to work 50-55 hrs per week, now I only do 40. I'm no longer chasing the corporate ladder and would love to conceive again. Our goal is to live off my hubby's income. If I get pregnant soon, once I have that 2nd baby, I'll quit my 6-figure salary job. I couldn't imagine not being the one raising my children. And if I'm honest with myself, how much time would I spend with them if I work 50+ hrs per week? I understand everyone's finances are unique, but I'm working toward financial freedom now and willing to give up my salary (husband makes only half my salary) and scale back our life style if it means spending time with my baby. After all those years trying to have him, he's worth it!
