Do you consider this a red flag in dating? [Trigger Warning - Suicide]

The guy that I am exclusively dating for 6 months almost killed himself 7 years ago but is recovered now. He did self harm, drugs, but went clean after getting therapy and help. He's now working two jobs and finishing up school next year.

He is a sweet guy, very considerate, caring, and emotionally mature - unlike the past guys that I've dated before. He is currently in therapy which is great to keep himself in check even though it was 7 years ago, and has a great support system of family and friends.

I have gone through similar problems with self harm and have contemplated death/suicide a lot because of verbal abuse from parents (they would tell me to go and kill myself, how to do it, and what to do with my money before I do it). It led me to abuse alcohol in college because I developed severe social anxiety, and even took weed. And it affected me romantically because I kept getting myself into emotionally abusive relationships because the verbal abuse was so normal for me to hear and didn't see it in others. But am clean, sober, and recovered now that I moved out of my parents house. I was saved by Christ and have been happily serving at my local Reformed Christian Church for the past 3 years.

We both really enjoy each other's company, have a lot of the same interests/hobbies, have very deep emotionally mature conversations, and are both taking dating slow. I can't help falling in love with him. I feel like he's such a good match for me, but am afraid to fall in love too quickly especially since my past relationships have been verbally abusive.

Would you consider this to be a red flag for you? Or do you think we're okay to proceed in pursuing something serious or am I missing something
