9mo old Mouthing Everything

So, I know mouthing is normal, but my son puts everything in his mouth. It seems like he doesn’t really play with his toys, just puts them in his mouth, and if something doesn’t fit in his mouth he licks it. He got a hold of one of his board books yesterday when we weren’t paying close attention, and chewed the cover to eat the cardboard!

Again, I know he’s going to put everything in his mouth at this age, but sometimes it just seems excessive. He did start get his teeth early, so idk if that’s part of it? Anyone else’s baby like this?
