Should the US have pulled troops from Afghanistan?
So I've been following recent news on this, but I don't know what happened prior to this so I don't have the full story...
From the current news the US pulled troops from Afghanistan and is in the process of evacuating the remaining troops. Canada has also sent troops to destroy documents and evacuate the embassy there. It seems like a Taliban takeover is inevitable at this point. With how badly things are going for citizens in Afghanistan right now, should we be removing the troops that helped hold this off for so long or is it actually beneficial in some way? As I said, I haven't been following this story from the beginning so I'm unsure what made them pull their troops in the first place. But either way, now that things are going the way they are, and accelerating so quickly is pulling troops still the right decision?
