is the hakka useful?

i’m giving birth soon and yes i’ll really to a lactation specialist about this as well but when you breastfeed on one side does the other side release milk as well?? if yes, i understand the use of a hakka but couldn’t you just pump the other side as well or do you only recommend pumping for when you need to release milk when it’s not feed time for baby?

So when you’re nursing on one side, the other side starts to “letdown” which means your boob will just leak milk. You can use a Hakka or the Hakka ladybug to just catch that milk so it’s not wasted! Otherwise you have to put a nursing pad or burp cloth or something there to absorb the milk so it doesn’t leave everywhere. You technically could pump at the same time, but that is going to be so difficult to do while also nursing. Plus, most people switch baby to the opposite boob after nursing for a little while, so you don’t want to pump all that milk out first. :) I personally didn’t love the Hakka bc my baby kept kicking it off! But the lady bug looks great and I am 100% going to buy that!!!

You can just pump the other side but I’m telling you realistically pumping one boo with a traditional pump AND feeding baby on the other side is easier said than done. 
Hell I’m strictly pumping and pumping both boobs at the same time AND bottle feeding my baby is tough.
You can feed baby off both boobs it’s best to rotate but the hakkaa is useful and I recommend

I don't use the haakaa to pump but it is so nice to catch my letdown. I actually use the ladybugs way more now that he kicks the haakaa lol. I have like 20 bags in the freezer with various amounts, mostly around 4oz. I won't have to pump before going back to work 🙌

My sister raves about the Elvie curve being much better than the Hakka as you don’t need to worry about it getting heavy, losing suction, falling off or being kicked by baby. Just put it in your bra and it’s nice and secure. Worth a try 🙂🙂
