Hysteroscopy?

Has anyone ever had a hysteroscopy or a dilation of their cervix in preparation for IUI or IVF? If so, would love to hear your experience! I am nervous

I had my cervix dilated to check for a uterine polyp once before. I didn't need it for my iui. Honestly, it was very painful experience for me. 
But I was told afterwards that I could've taken a pain reliever a hour or so before hand and that could've help the experience be a little less uncomfortable

I had a hysteroscopy a few weeks following my egg retrieval for IVF. No one from the clinic gave me instructions to take Motrin ahead of time. It’s not pleasant and was super messy (there was a problem with the tube for the saline and it squirted all over the place during the procedure) but the procedure itself wasn’t terrible. Within a couple hours though, I was miserable. The fluid and has caused me severe pain for a couple of days. I could barely move. But I don’t know that it’s so bad for everyone.

I had one in preparation for my first round of IVF to make sure things looked good. It was awkward and messy since saline was used to flush my uterus, I was able to see the inside of my uterus. It’s been years but I don’t remember it being painful, maybe just uncomfortable at times but tolerable. It was done right in my RE office and I didn’t take anything. It was totally fine and pretty quick for me. I’m sure it would be a completely diff story if I had issues with my cervix or had fibroids, etc.

I was put under for mine. It was the easiest thing to recover from compared to retrievals and d&c's. I was fine hours later.

I had one a few months ago for an incomplete miscarriage. I took ibuprofen and paracetamol two hours before. It was very uncomfortable and a bit painful but the procedure was quick - it took about five minutes according to my journal.

I had a hysteroscopy! It was fine but I was under anesthesia. Super fast and easy. My IVF transfer worked but I later miscarried :(
