Potty training

It’s been a week a half into potty training for my 32 month old and he’s now more resistant. The first week wasn’t bad. He was peeing in the toilet when prompted and even started telling us. He even pooped in the toilet and took his time. This week he’s very resistant and has had several accidents- pee/poop. I’m wondering if I made a mistake and it’s too early. Anyone else’s toddler go through a resistance stage? I am 30 weeks pregnant and not sure I have the patience for it.
