I've been in Texas my whole life and have been to Galveston once back in 2015 with my exs family. but my husband and I have never been on a trip together and wanted to go somewhere on the only three Day weekend I get from September 3rd to September 6th and we decided on Galveston because it's closer to us than corpus Christi or Port Aransas or any of those other beaches that are supposedly much nicer. We also have a budget which I still have to calculate... Does anyone have any traveling tips for me? We're driving there and it's about 5 hours away from us. We're leaving Friday night and driving back sometime Monday and seeing the prices of everything is kind of scaring me since I didn't have much time to budget or plan anything out but I feel like this is my only chance to get a trip in at least for another six or more months.. like I said he and I have never been on a trip together so doing this will be huge in our relationship and memorable no matter where it is so I'm excited and nervous and I just don't know what to do or where to start. The only place I've seen that is somewhat affordable compared to everywhere else and has decent reviews is going to be $522 plus some change but of course I have to calculate gas and food and necessities and paying my brother to watch our animals at home.. I'm just nervous and I want to know if anyone has travel tips and tricks?? Maybe some insight on Galveston, but please nothing negative unless it's a better, more affordable beach please lol thank you
