What could cause painful periods??

I know there are number of things to cause it. And I'm currently waiting for a call back from my Dr to make an appointment.

But I just want to see if any other women have had similar issues.

My past 3 menstrual cycles have been super painful!!! I mean my cramps feel like contractions honestly and I know that because I have 2 kids lol. They are just super strong and really hurt. I've never had painful cycles before. It's especially in my lower back, and I can't even wear tampons as much as I use to.

I just don't know what to do, hot baths help a little bit, pain relievers do not. I've been having normal cycles, up until 3 months ago and it seems like it honestly just gets worse.
