Was this horrible of me?

I have a 6 year old who throws fits occasionally. She has been acting sick past 2 days so I told her it's time for me to give her medicine so she can feel better. I started feeling sick this morning (sore throat, cough, etc.)

She hates medicine and has never taken it well. Doctors have had to pin her down to give her medicine. Nurses have had to tell me to pin her down at home to give her meds after surgery or allergic reactions.

I poured it in cup and she refused. I tried bribing her with treats and things and she refused. After awhile of whining and stomping and flaying around I said "easy or hard way. You can take the cup yourself and drink it, or I can pin you down and shove it down your throat." After that she grabbed the cup and whined and screamed and took a million sips and spilled it so I'm not even sure how much she sipped. She screamed and stomped while I just sat there, done.

My husband is mad at me for what I said to her (he was at work). I now feel like a horrible mother and like I was too harsh and horrible to her.
