Do you know your left from your right

Don’t pick on me 😩 It’s so stressful when I’m driving. Idk how people just know intuitively, I still have to use the L trick and it takes me a second to think about it

Make an L shape with your thumb and pointer finger on both hands. The one that isn’t backwards is your left. L for left

I start to put my right hand on my heart as if I’m saying the pledge and then I know that side is my right side. I don’t actually have to put my hand on my heart, just start to life it and then I know.

I used to have no trouble, but after years of notating things on my patients it has messed me up. If I look at them their left is my right & vice versa so now I have to stop & think about if it MY right or left. Hopefully that makes sense.

I always used the whole I write with my right hand to help me remember. But it's 50/50 if I really have to think about it when it comes to L or R in the car. Definitely don't ask me for directions though I can't help you there, unless you can drive by me saying my landmarks that help me. Lol

When I was learning how to figure skate as a kid my coach gave me a red ring to wear on my right thumb so when I had my hands out in front of me I could remember that “red is right”. You could always try something like that until it sticks

Learning how to drive with me was dangerous😂. I’d be told to turn right but I’d turn left. Which in some cases I’ve turned in places i can’t drive all because I don’t know left to right.

I used to say "this way" for turning left (towards me, the driver) & "that way" for turning right because I had a horrible time remembering which was left & which was right. Then one day my friend started saying "left, this way" or "right, that way" & pointing in the direction we were turning. Eventually, it just clicked and my brain finally figured it out. So don't stress, find your own way of remembering directions, & it'll eventually get better.
