Why are men so desperate all the time

So I was in an anxiety group chat . There was this one guy I was giving him advice it seem like he was having a hard time . I told him I had a boyfriend like multiple times (because he asked how we met etc..). And told him to download these dating apps if he was looking . And I told him to try focus on himself instead of chasing after girls because obviously it’s not working out . And then he said “we should go out on a date” I told him “wtf I told u I had a bf I was just trying to help” and blocked him 😭 why are men like this (my bf knew the whole time and I read him the messages btw)
