Can I be pregnant? 5 months pp!

So I’m 5 almost 6 months pp and my partner stupidly forgot to pull out a couple nights ago, I’ve yet to get my period back since baby as I’m breastfeeding, my thought is it’s probably rare that I’d get pregnant as 1. I’m not ovulating and 2. To get pregnant with our son we were on contraception tablets (it’s not very easy for me to get pregnant), this 2 week wait is a nightmare 😴

Unless you have been tracking with OPKs it is completely possible that you could have ovulated. Breastfeeding isn’t birth control and plenty of women have gotten pregnant while breastfeeding, even before getting their first post partum period. Also women that have had to go through IVF for their first pregnancy have gone on to have repeated pregnancies on their own, some even as surprises. I hope you get the result you are hoping for after your two week wait, but if you really don’t want to get pregnant again I would talk to your doctor about the mini pill or non hormonal birth control that won’t affect your supply.

You ovulate before you get your period so you very well could be ovulating already. I got my period back at 5 months postpartum both times. I got pregnant at 7 months postpartum (on purpose) while breastfeeding, it’s not birth control. Nothing you can do now but wait. But if you don’t want another kid right away, you need to use more reliable birth control. Pull out method isn’t birth control and many women still get pregnant

Almost everyone i know who has had a baby and didn't wait the full length of time after to have sex got pregnant much easier than with their previous pregnancy.
