How do I find out if my water is broke/leaking?

I’m a first time mom, kinda clueless here. I’m 39w tomorrow and I was taking a nap, I got up and felt my underwear were soaked so I went to the bathroom and saw this…any advice or help on how I can find out if it’s my water? Would I have known in my sleep it was my water breaking?

My water ruptured with my first. I had a feeling it was my water because I would lay down for a bit and when I stood up I could feel a small gush as I sat up.
They have a way to test at the hospital. I’d probably call the L&D number and ask what they want you to do.

At the hospital they can do an amniotic fluid test. 
When my water broke it was like I was peeing but couldn’t stop or hold it back

If you go to the hospital or your doctor they can test you for amniotic fluid. That's not really another way to tell.

Itll be still leaking a bit. 
However some women report they don't have constant leaking so go get checked out if you think you need to go!

Best way to tell is to go in to L&D or your OB'S office and they can check. Id bring your underwear as well and wear a pad in case you leak more and they can swab it for amniotic fluid!
