6 weeks pregnant/possible cyst rupture?

Hi ladies, so last night I had a horrible episode. I finished showering, and I noticed that some cramping had started in the shower. By the time I got out and got dressed, the cramps were intensifying and I went to the bathroom and saw 3 drops of red blood. Immediately I went to lay down in bed and that’s when the pains started. I was squirming in bed with contraction-like pains, sweating cold, nauseous and really dizzy. Thank goodness I wasn’t alone because I almost passed out a few times. After about 45 minutes, the pain was completely gone. After using the bathroom again I only had some light brown spotting when I wiped. I called my OB emergency line and he prescribed progesterone suppositories to be safe. My question is: this same exact thing happened to me when I wasn’t pregnant about 6 years ago. Could this have been a cyst rupture or something else not related to miscarriage?
