Does anyone not follow wake windows sleeping cues and just wing it?

I feel like my day revolves around watching wake windows sleeping cues. My daughter is 13 months, trying to go down to one nap. Has anyone just said fuck it and just go with the flow? Lol

I definitely keep in mind how long she's been awake at once , so if she starts fussing I can understand if it's because she's tired. But my baby will HAPPILY stay awake for a full three hours between feeds and be a happy little camper about it. Lol so I gave up on the wake window junk. She's 12 weeks old tomorrow, btw.

For us following wake windows works the best. I think it really depends on your child. Mine was not easy about sleeping but once we started following a schedule and wake windows it helped us a great deal. We winged it until about 9 months and were going crazy.

By that age, we develooed a schedule and stuck to that. Much better than watching wake windows amd sleep cues. By about 8 months I was watching for "nap time" on the clock. About 30 mins before nap time I would start watching to make sure she wasn't getting too overtired.

Both. Sometimes he'll rub his eyes but must often he just starts to get fussy and easily upset, so I put him for a nap.  I don't let him go past 2 hours though for a nap

I did that with my first and it was a fucking nightmare!!!! She was a disaster trying to get to sleep and stopped napping by 12 months!  Completely don’t recommend that strategy!

A little of both!
We didn’t know about wake windows or how long she should be napping until she was about 2 months old. We were winging it before that.
She almost 11 months now and follow wake windows for the most part, but we do try and stretch out a nap if we have to go somewhere, or let her nap early if she’s clearly very tired.

Does anyone not follow wake windows sleeping cues and just wing it?
