Should be illegal

It should be illegal to charge rent per person, the town I live in does this because it’s a college town and everyone has roommates. BUT, I have a family of four and refuse to pay 600$ for myself, 600 for my fiancé, and 1,200 just for my kids in rent. Like clearly my fiancé would pay half the rent but damn 2,400 to rent a 3 bedroom apartment?? That’s absolutely ridiculous 🙄🙄

I’m not here for any reason except to vent. It’s just frustrating. I can’t find a place to live because they’re all like that. I have a job and my son is in school, I can’t just leave town.
