Tips for changing weather with a baby?

It just started getting cold and I feel unprepared for my little one. Just any tips or advice?

Layers and wool! Rather severalty thin layers than one fluffy and thick. If you have baby in a car seat use a blanket around baby, never a car seat cover.

1. To check your child's temperature- check the neck- if it's cool- try a layer more, if it's warm/sweaty- a layer less.
When they can talk- try to listen because they move more than you- so maybe they really don't need this schal/jacket
2. Basically for babies under 2mo- 1 layer more than you have, afterwards- same as you
3. If your child can crawl (and you let them do it outside) or walk- I recommend mud trousers and jacket, and wellingtons from whole my heart! I think it's a discovery worth of some special prize!

If it's still an infant I just dressed baby in pants, long sleeves, a light jacket if needed, and socks, but really just used blankets and a carseat cover. Our carsest cover was a thinner material so we did use a little baby hat for his ears or used a thicker blanket over it if needed. You can get those snow suits made for the car seat, or an actual winter cover. 
For toddler aged, they dress the same way, I typically try to get thicker shirts since they're not suppose to wear puffy jackets in the carseat and it's a royal pain lol. So if it's an extra cold day I'll still put a light jacket that is car seat safe on them and just take their heavy coat with and put on or off once we're are getting out of the vehichle. I also have snow boots for them since we typically get quite a bit of snow. Hats, and gloves are good have on hand too and I've learned to keep an extra pair in your vehichle 😅

Babies are easy blankets are always good. They don't really need jackets unless they'll be out. In that case more layers are better than fluffier jackets the fluffier ones tend to be a bit of a suffocation hazard and are uncomfortable for the children. If it's cold outside and you have to go somewhere you put your child in the car without a jacket on. It doesn't matter if they're baby or a kid they never go in the car seat with a jacket on instead either drape the jacket over them after you've gotten them up or simply use a blanket. I like to buy a pack of socks that fit in a pack of socks that are too big that way I can layer them if I need to. But the basic rule is if you're cold then your baby's probably cold.
