With my situation, we were friends while we co-parented our kids. We didn't just text or call to talk about the kids but to see how the other was doing. We knew about people we were dating, gave each other advice, hung out without the kids, played video games together and once the kids were in bed he'd read a book to me over the phone. At that time it wasn't romantic to either of us and when I found out I have several cancers he was very supportive and helpful and NEVER pushed me to restart our romantic relationship we once had. We've always been close with each other and even though I hurt him a lot during our relationship, we were still civil even on the hardest days when we were separated. It definitely rubbed some people the wrong way but it was what worked for us and our children so fuck everyone else 🤷🏽‍♀️
