I’m not sure what to do…

I’m currently 14 years old and I got my first period two years ago, but I haven’t had one since then. I do have very light spotting about once every two months, but that’s it. I’ve tried everything I know to do/ everything I’ve read to do for it to come back in a natural way. The thing is that nothing has ever worked. I cannot be open with my family because they are very religious and do not talk about this kind of stuff, and I have asked to go to the doctor (for other reasons but also so that I can bring this up) and no appointment has been made. I just wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience, if anyone had any ideas of what to do to help, and if you think birth control would be a good option.
