Did you wait the full 6 weeks to drive after a c-section

If your doctor put on your after care papers not to drive until he clears you, but you don’t get cleared until 6 weeks, did you wait to drive?

I got cleared at 2 weeks to drive. They want you to be off of any heavy pain medications and to be able to slam on the brakes without hurting yourself.

I had to drive at around 4 weeks, but would’ve waited if I had the choice. It’s not about the pain your in at the time, it’s in case you’re involved in an accident, the impact, and the pressure you would put on the brake pedal can burst the stitches. 
Also, check with your insurance company as some may not cover you if you’re driving within a certain time period after surgery without clearance from a doctor

I drove after 5 days. My OB never had any driving restrictions except not taking pain meds.

I was cleared after like 10 days to drive. I was only taking Ibuprofen at that point for pain. I was never told to wait 6 weeks.

I had a 2 week follow up and a 6 week follow up because of the c section. I was cleared to drive and walk up/down stairs at the 2 week appt and cleared for all other activity at the 6 week.

My discharge instructions only said to wait 2 weeks, so that's what I did. I wasn't on any pain meds by then and my incision was healing well with little discomfort.
