TTC Tracking Everything

Amy

Hi everyone. Warning: long post because it’s confusing to word.

When people talk about how they’ve been TTC for however many months or years does that mean actively tracking everything, having sex, throughout fertile period, knowing when you ovulate, etc and it’s simply not working? Or does it mean like you’re trying but life gets in the way sometimes?

Maybe this is stupid but I feel like I track everything, get positive ovulation strips, and have sex religiously during my fertile window and have done it perfectly for three months with no luck.

This seems different than TTC for eight months but (insert issue here) -my husband was sick, I traveled for work, I’m not sure if I ovulated, etc.

Does that make any sense?

Is there something wrong with me?

And I know the response is always “it can take healthy couples a year” -but is that it can take healthy couples a year who are tracking and having sex right before ovulation? Or is it a general having unprotected sex whenever and it should happen in a year?

I’m not sure why this bothers me so much but I feel like that’s a huge distinguishing factor and I cannot wrap my head around the fact that my body is releasing an egg, my husband is coming in me multiple times at the peak time, and it’s simply not working.

Any thoughts, wisdom, or advice?
