What size did your new born wear?

What clothing size did your new born wear at the hospital? Ftm here, I’ve noticed some new born sizes are different.

My son was 6lbs 0oz and newborns were massive on him, could have probably used preemie. Rule of thumb is if your baby is 8lbs or more 0-3 will fit fine.

My son was born 8.9 lbs and wore 0-3 months when he was first born. Newborn was far too tight

My daughter was 8lb 1oz and fitted into newborn until she was about 2 months old. Her body was quite small, but she had long legs. 
Honestly if not for her long legs, she probably could have fitted into tiny baby clothes. Sadly I don't remember her length because they don't record it at the hospital here but I'd say length had a lot more to do with the sizes she was in rather than her weight, she's never been too wide for clothes when she needs to size up - but her trousers always end up being too short.

Mine was 8lb 9oz and wore newborn for a couple of weeks, then moved to 0-3 months

Both my babies newborn size diapers and clothes for the first month then started to fit 0-3m clothes.
Now my boy is 6mo and wears 9mo size clothes

My 1 year old was 8lbs 6.8oz and 20.5 inches. He wore newborn size for a month.

8.5 lbs and wore her newborn outfit for pics and that was it… it was snug 😅 
I would buy maybe a couple newborn pjs and go from there. They don’t really stay in that size for long

We only bought 2-3 newborn outfits. He mostly wore 3m. He was 8+ lbs at birth.

Nb was a little loose. My babies were 7lbs 3oz and 7lbs 9oz. Both 20 and 20.5inches. So normal sized babies.
