how to not over eat?

Any tips on how not over eat? I struggle with it so much. Even if I’m full I have to finish my plate to the point I’m sick. I have no self control. Even if I eat small meals a day and I’m full I don’t have self control and will still look for more food. I try to distract myself to avoid eating but it doesn’t help. I’ve tried drinking water before & after, and etc. I can’t stay on a healthy diet bc I’m eating right having meals, and I’m just normal full. I’ll still look for snacks, If I decide to eat a portion of cake (example) I’m not satisfied with it and just go back to it and get more. If I don’t keep junk in the house, days later when I get my hands on some I’ll “binge” on it. Any tips that helped anyone? I want a better relationship with food.
