Dating someone who doesn't get along with you family

I been dealing with this man for two years on and off and we have had issues in the past with him and my family. Till this day my mother don't accept my relationship with him & yet I still continue to be with him because I love him. Well another incident happen with him and & family member which was my fault and ever since then I been trying to fix it with him and that family member but its not working. Has anyone ever been in a relationship Before where your family didn't accept your relationship but you didn't care ? And  What was the ending results ???
