Should I convert the crib to toddler bed?

LO is 2 years old and hasn’t ever really been a great sleeper. She needs either my husband or I to fall asleep. Usually we lay next to her in our bed until she falls asleep and then we move her to her crib for the night. Lately she has been waking up at night and wanting to come back to our bed. Should I convert the crib to a toddler bed? That way I can just lay in there with her until she falls asleep and then not have to bring her to our bed at all. Is it too soon to use a toddler bed? She does not climb out of her crib nor has she ever really tried to. Thoughts? Is it too early?

Switched my daughter at 22 months and she did great but that doesnt mean all toddlers will. My daughter is also sleep trained and enjoys independent sleep. Your toddler will most likely still look for you in the night. She is going to bed next to you so when you arent there when she wakes up she gets scared and confused. If she learns to fall asleep by herself then she should be fine all night. This being said, we moved the nugget next to my daughters bed until her full size bedframe comes in, she moves a bunch so she needs the extra room, and it has been nice to lay down next to her before bed. She also wants us to stay longer now that she knows its an option. For my daughter, we shut her bedroom door (she cant open it yet) and she only gets out of bed when nap time is over or its morning and she wakes up and knocks and says mama when she is ready to come out.

My daughter was in her toddler bed at 2 months before her second birthday but that was all her. Some go Into a toddler bed later though all depends on them. 
She might be wanting you because of your routine of letting her fall asleep with you in your bed. She might just get up if you put her in a toddler bed and look for you because she is used to you helping her fall asleep. It might not change much if you stay with her in her bed she will likely still look for you.
Maybe try and have her fall asleep without you and your bed even if it takes a while to get her down. Not sure what she does if you try to get her to sleep on her own. 
All kids are different though.
